What we do with your data.
Short version: if you apply to build with us, we store what you send so we can review it, we use a few named processors to do that, we never sell it or use it for marketing, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. The longer version is below, in plain language.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Cohorte SAS, a company registered in Paris, France (founded 2022), operating from Paris and Rabat. If you have any question about your data or want to exercise a right below, email [email protected] and it reaches the people who can act on it.
What we collect, and when
We only collect what you choose to send through the application form on this site. That is:
- Your name, work email, LinkedIn URL, and location or time zone.
- What you have shipped: your free-text description of production systems, plus the evidence link you provide.
- Your answer to the scenario, and your choices for focus, engagement capacity, and start availability.
- How you heard about us, and any notes you add.
- A small amount of technical context: a referrer hostname (not the full URL), any campaign tags in the link you arrived through, and a request id we generate to trace your submission if something goes wrong.
We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and there are no third-party cookies. The only third-party script is Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the form is submitted by a human, not a bot.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
We use your data for one purpose: to assess your application and, if it is a fit, to talk to you about an engagement. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in building a small, vetted roster of Forward Deployed Engineers, and your own interest in being considered. Sending the form is a deliberate, informed act on your part. We do not use your data to train models, and we do not use it for marketing.
Who processes it
We keep the surface small and we name our processors honestly:
- Notion stores your application in our private FDE roster, where we review it.
- Resend sends you the confirmation email after you apply.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the Turnstile anti-spam check.
These providers act on our instructions and only to deliver these functions. Some of them process data in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard, so your data carries its protection with it.
How long we keep it
We keep your application while it is live, and for a reasonable window afterward in case a future engagement fits, because a strong application is worth revisiting. After that we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time, and we will.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to: show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, stop processing it, or hand it to you in a portable form. You can also object to our processing. To do any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within a month. If you think we have handled your data badly, you have the right to complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
The honest summary. We collect what you send, to decide whether to build with you. We use Notion, Resend, and Cloudflare to do it. We never sell it. You can read it, correct it, or have it deleted by emailing [email protected].
